Los Angeles is a city known for its innovation and forward-thinking spirit. But as it prepares to host major global events like the 2028 Olympics and the upcoming World Cup, it faces complex challenges in key areas like security, transportation, and technology. These events will put a spotlight on the city’s infrastructure and demand innovative solutions to ensure safety, efficiency, and accessibility.
A New Report Emerges from a Collaborative Effort
To address these critical issues, OGx Consulting and Google Cloud recently brought together key stakeholders from across the region for the “LA Tomorrow” workshop. This wasn’t just another talk shop; it was a collaborative effort to identify actionable solutions and create a roadmap for a better Los Angeles.
Several cross-cutting themes emerged from the LA Tomorrow Workshop, highlighting the need for a holistic approach.
- Data: Improved data sharing, governance, security, and privacy are crucial.
- Technology: Embracing new technologies like AI and advanced traffic systems is essential, but requires overcoming adoption barriers.
- People: AI literacy, cybersecurity training, and addressing workforce impact are critical.
- Collaboration: Unified effort across government, private sector, and community is necessary.
- Equity: Ensuring equitable access to mobility and addressing AI biases is vital.
The workshop showcased examples like AI for personalized learning (Chris Hein, CTO at Google Public Sector), LA Metro’s Mobility Wallet, and L.A. County’s proactive cybersecurity. For a comprehensive overview of these themes and more, download and read the LA Tomorrow Workshop Report.
