Alvin McBorrough, Founder and CEO of OGx Consulting, recently shared his valuable insights in an interview with Authority Magazine. In the interview, he revealed the five things he wishes someone told him before starting a consulting business.
1. Embrace the Loneliness:
Starting your own consulting firm can be isolating. Be prepared to spend time alone making difficult decisions and navigating challenges.
2. Leverage Your Team:
Build a strong team and empower them to contribute to your success. Teamwork is crucial for overcoming challenges and achieving your goals.
3. Seek Guidance:
A board of advisors can provide valuable insights and support. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and seek advice from others.
4. Network Extensively:
Building strong relationships within the industry is essential for finding new clients and staying updated on trends. Attend networking events and actively seek out opportunities to connect with others.
5. Maintain Humility:
Be open to learning and growing, and don’t be afraid to admit your mistakes. Humility is essential for personal and professional development.
