Exploring LA Tomorrow: Security, AI, and Mobility

As Los Angeles looks to the future—including events like the 2028 Olympics—artificial intelligence (AI), security, and mobility are key areas of focus. The ‘LA Tomorrow’ workshop will empower stakeholders with the knowledge and strategies needed to address key challenges, capitalize on emerging opportunities, and build a thriving future for the region.

Dividing into smaller breakout groups, attendees will brainstorm and focus on the following discussions:

  • Group 1: Security (Cybersecurity, Resilient Infrastructure): Participants will collaborate to identify key vulnerabilities and develop strategies for enhancing cybersecurity and building more resilient infrastructure in the Los Angeles region.
  • Group 2: AI and Data & Analytics for Decision-Making: This working group will explore how AI and data analytics can be effectively utilized to improve decision-making processes and drive positive outcomes for LA communities.
  • Group 3: Mobility, Traffic, and Control: Participants will work together to brainstorm innovative solutions for improving mobility, traffic flow, and control systems in Los Angeles, addressing current challenges and anticipating future needs.

Groups will then share key insights, ideas, and recommendations from breakout discussions with the larger group. This time is also dedicated to exploring key themes, addressing questions, and identifying areas of consensus or divergence.

Concluding session that will consolidate key insights and foster a sense of shared purpose. This session is intended to bring together more community collaboration and introduce opportunities to participate in future working groups dedicated to advancing solutions for LA’s future.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What time should I arrive at the workshop?
We recommend arriving within the 9:00am-9:30am designated time for arrivals and light breakfast. Will will begin promptly at 9:30am. Please anticipate for parking and check-in, which may take up to 10 minutes of your time.
What should I bring to the workshop?
Please bring a government issued photo idea for check in. Also, any materials you typically use for note-taking as you wish. Laptops, tablets, and other mobile devices are permitted. But we will ask you to silence these and refrain from use during the workshop.
Will lunch be provided during the workshop?
Yes, lunch will be provided for everyone. Please let us know if you have dietary restrictions upon check-in. We will do our best to accommodate them.
How interactive will the workshop be?
The workshop is designed to be highly interactive, with opportunities to engage in our Q&A fireside keynote discussions and breakouts with hands-on activities. We encourage everyone to actively participate and share insights and experiences.
Is there anything I should do to prepare for the workshop?
We recommend familiarizing yourself with the agenda, the parking information, and the pre-read materials/resources we’ve provided on the LA Tomorrow Workshop Hub. Additionally, consider any questions or topics you’d like to discuss during the workshop to make the most of this experience for you.
Will there be media at the event?
Yes. By attending the event, you are consenting to the following:
